Doctors often get samples from the drug companies. When your doctor prescribes a medication, ask for free samples.

Ask Your Doctor About Different Dosing Options
You might be able to save money by purchasing a 90-day supply of your medicine instead of a 30-day supply. Also, your doctor and pharmacist might be able to prescribe higher-dosage pills that can be split. NOTE: Never split pills without first checking with your doctor and pharmacist!

Compare Drug Prices at Your Local Pharmacies

Many pharmacies will give the discounted price of your prescription over the phone.  They'll need three pieces of information from your card: the Group # (DDB); the BIN # (008878); and the Processor (Netcard Systems/Rx West). They may ask you to bring the prescription into the pharmacy, along with your card, to get the discounted price.
